Nature and Art Camp will combine learning about the natural world around us by creating Art from things found in nature. Each day campers will learn about a different aspect of nature and then learn how those materials can be used in our everyday lives and how they were used in the past.

Art using natural objects - after taking a walk outside and collecting objects from nature, campers will learn about what they found and then use it to create a unique piece of art. Campers will also learn how to make a candle.

Weave using natural elements - humans have been creating baskets for thousands of years. Learn what natural materials can be used and try a hand at weaving your own basket. Learn the history of weaving and what type of baskets, blankets and clothes were made in the 1800’s.

Make paper from plants - learn how paper is made and create your own homemade paper to use in our printing press. Campers will enjoy hearing the history of the printed word.

Food chemistry - learn some fun food facts while doing science experiments using common foods. Then learn the chemistry behind butter by churning your own like they did in the 1800’s. Campers will get an arm workout!
